A memristive plasticity model of voltage-based STDP suitable for recurrent bidirectional neural networks in the hippocampus

A voltage-based STDP rule for memristive devices is derived and is compared to electrophysiology plasticity data. Utilizing the STDP rule, a neural network inspired by the auto-associative CA3 network of the hippocampus is simulated. The implemented network allows the discrimination and processing of mnemonic pattern information. On one hand, the results can be used for the design of appropriate memristive devices for neuromorphic computing and on the other hand, they can be used for the development of complex neuromorphic networks.
